Swimmers stood in cold after evacuation during fire at Archway Leisure Centre

Swimmers had to stand outside in the cold with just their towels after “nearly 100” people were evacuated from a leisure centre in Archway.

For this story, I used a contact to retrieve these shocking pictures – which mainly generated interest in the story.

From there I also interviewed a gym-goer to pad out the story – along with going to emergency services and the leisure centre provider for a statement.

This story then had a follow-up as I learned from police that an arson investigation was launched.
