A neighbour to a Lebanese restaurant that was destroyed in a fire just a day after its reopening said it was “inevitable”.
Lebanese Grill Express at Leather Lane in Clerkenwell had its ground floor destroyed, along with its roof and a loft extension, on July 16, 2026, following the blaze at 5.42am.
The eatery was temporarily shut the month before with a closure order following reports of anti-social behaviour, and the flames broke out a day after its reopening.
I spoke to residents who live near the restaurant who explained more about its reoccurring problems.
